10 Gigabit Ethernet to become the new industry standard

With the advent of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet standards, cabling infrastructures have had to be reviewed.

In order to be ready for future implementation of this higher bandwidth, consideration should be given to Category 6A cabling.

Cat6A (A for Augmented) is radically different from the previous Cat5e and Cat6 technologies.

10Gigabit Ethernet will NOT run on Cat5e or Cat6 cabling.

Interconnect recommend that Shielded Cat6A cabling, outlets and patch panels are installed in any new or refurbished building.

This will give longevity to your cabling infrastructure, and prepare you for the deployment of 10Gigabit Ethernet to the desk.
